Jointly with Diabetesvrijleven and Diavantis – organisations working for and with people afflicted with diabetes type 2 in improving their health status – the European Institute for Food Law recommended the Health Council of the Netherlands to improve its draft nutrition guidelines for people with diabetes type 2 by asking a more fitting research question and answering this research question with more fitting science taking account of the position and point of view of the people concerned.


The European Institute for Food Law co-published: Rosita Spirovska Vaskovska, Food Law: A Milestone to a Career, 10th Anniversary of food law in Wageningen (e-Book).

The book provides reflections of food law graduates indicating what the education in food law contributed to their subsequent career.


The European Institute for Food Law provided feedback on Directives 1999/2/EC and 1999/3/EC on irradiation of foodstuffs in response to a call from the European Commission.


Jointly with the Law and Governance Group at Wageningen University, the European Institute for Food Law Submitted to the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights a Shadow Report on the Right to Food in the Netherlands .


The European Institute for Food Law shared reflections on proposal for a new Novel Foods Regulation (COM(2008) 872 final).
